Restylane® is a dermal filler composed of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that maintains fullness and elasticity in the skin. As you grow older, your skin loses hyaluronic acid which results in wrinkles and folds in the skin. Restylane® is injected into the problem area to plump the folds and smooth the wrinkles. Restylane® is available in several forms with small to large gel particles that allow for corrections of fine lines as well as deep creases. The result is a more youthful and natural looking appearance.
Restylane® usually lasts 6 months or longer. and although some state that treatment is required twice a year, most of out patients require treatment only once per year.
